Traces Wanted:

  1. Receiving an SMS message from many different countries and operators. We want to find out who is using encryption for SMS and who does not.
  2. Traces when sim is used for first time. We want to see OTA and other Operator Update messages.

Just before hitting 'manual' unter 'Network Selection'. The phone then scans for Mobile operator carriers. I stopped the debug trace when the list of all operators was displayed: Network Selection -> Debug Trace ON -> Manual -> wait until all networks are displayed.

Goal was to see SMS message that is send from MobOp when SIM is used for the very first time. Vodaphone sim card. I received all this packages while phone was wrapped in tin foil and signal bar indicated 'no signal'.

I removed the tin foil while trace was running. Phone signal indicator jumped to 4 bars (strong signal). I continued the trace for several minutes (10+ min). This was the first ever time the sim card registered to the network.

Using a vodafone sim card. I dialed *#100# to request the sim's phone number. I stopped the trace 5 seconds after the phone displayed the phone number (077048830838).
